Kenneth Lane Coral Shell Brooch Embellished with Gold Dots and Detail, Saks Fifth Avenue Exclusive Collection, Orange Coral Shell Brooch
This large Kenneth Lane gold embellished orange coral shell brooch is a harder to find vintage piece. The brooch is resin with 9 gold dots and details. The back is gold tone and stamped KENNETH © LANE indicating that it was a piece sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue. The pin is straight and has a c-clasp lock. The brooch is in good condition. All the gold dots are firmly in place with one dot having some wear/damage. There are some surface scratching and two tiny paint chips on the bottom back hard to see but worth mentioning, please see photos. The brooch measures about 2 1/8 inches wide x 2 1/8 inches tall x and 3/4 of an inch deep. The Brooch comes in an unmarked box. It is a uniquely fun and bold brooch that will certainly catch the eye making it a statement piece.
A little about KJL- Kenneth Jay Lane was a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and is known for his costume jewelry. He launched his first line in 1963 while he designed bejeweled shoes for Dior. He made his mark immediately on the fashion world when he covered inexpensive plastic bangles with rhinestones, added findings, and turned them into excessively large earrings. His talent at copying high end jewelry from a quick glimpse proved popular. His clients such as Jackie Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor & Audrey Hepburn commissioned fake jewels from Lane, it allowed them to wear jewelry more freely. 1960's through the 1970's Lane produced brooches and other pieces that reflected Asian influences, incorporating everything from Buddhas to dragons to Indian goddesses in his work. Lane was also known for his animal shapes covered in enamel and rhinestones. Lane produced a line for Avon in the 80's and a line for QVC in the 90's. Kenneth passed away in 2017.

Gift wrapping and packaging
I can customize any gift order with a hand written/typed note or card at your request and free of charge. I can offer gift wrapping on most items. Many items are breakable, it is priority items are wrapped with the utmost care to prevent breakage. Items maybe double boxed when gift wrapped.
Custom and personalised orders
A hand written/typed message, note or card can be added to any order at the request of the buyer/sender. Most items are vintage and gently used and are unable to be altered.
Shipping Rates
I do my best to have accurate shipping rates and list the least expensive method available. Shipping overages of $2 or more will be refunded. If a specific type or expedited shipping is desired please communicate prior to purchase so adjustments can be made otherwise an additional shipping upgrade may need to be purchased.
International - Small Packet Surface is the rate most listed for shipping overseas. No tracking or insurance.
How long will it take for my package to arrive?
Time of estimated delivery with depend on your location and method of shipping used. I do try my best to have items shipped within 1 to 2 business days.
Canadian customers: usually 3 to 10 business days.
USA customers (I ship from Montana wit USPS three days a week M, W & Fr) usually 4 to 8 business days.
Overseas-Small Packet Surface is the rate listed- 6 to 8 weeks but has take as long as 3 months. No tracking or Insurance. Small Packet Air (shipping upgrade required) 10 to 14 business days, no tracking or insurance. Not responsible, no refund for lost or damaged packages as no insurance is chosen. I have had great success with both of these methods.
Can I pick up my purchase?
Yes, if you live in Calgary, AB Canada or surrounding area pick up is an option. I do not have a store front so an agreed upon time must be arranged prior to pick up. I am easy to locate in central Calgary, an address will be provided upon completion of sale. There is not a shipping fee for items being picked up. Please contact me prior to purchase so shipping may be removed.
I can deliver within Calgary city limits for a small delivery fee.
Exchanges, refunds & cancellations?
All my items are vintage and previously owned. I do my best to list an accurate description of condition. I take pride in my honesty with description and take the utmost care in packaging items for shipping. I am happy answer any questions or send additional photos
If you are unhappy with an item purchased from my shop please contact me. Cancellations are accepted within 1 hour of purchase. Once the item has been shipped cancellations are no longer accepted.
If insurance is not requested with your purchase, I cannot refund item cost or shipping costs for damaged, lost or stolen packages.
If for any reason an item is to be returned, customers must make contact within 14 days of delivery and are responsible to pay for the return shipping.
Can items be put on hold?
Yes, I can reserve (hold) items up to 24 hours. This allows a grace period for customers to decide on the purchase or for a shipping upgrade to be calculated. A customer can only have the same item reserved (hold) once within a 7 day period.
